Grade 10 ESL (Test)
Welcome to Grade 10 English! This year we'll be learning lots of fun and fantastic things! Make sure you check the LMS at 7pm on the day of your lesson to see all of the materials available for you.
Here are the interesting topics we'll be studying this year: Unit 1 - Places to visit: We’ll be reading and writing about well-known tourist attractions around the world and the best places to visit in Vietnam. Unit 2 - Celebrities, Fame and Entertainment: We’ll listen to biographies of celebrities and have a look into the dark side of becoming famous. Unit 3 - History and Time: We’ll take a look at different historical events and what we’ve learned from them. We’ll also explore some interesting facts and opinions about the extinction of dinosaurs. Unit 4 - Food and Drink: We’ll discuss different healthy and unhealthy foods and drinks, as well as a few unique food items from different cultures around the world. Unit 5 - Colours: We’ll look at the use of colours in different cultures, including some unique festivals. We’ll also investigate the concept of being colour-blind and take a quiz ourselves! Unit 6 - Speech and Communication: We’ll investigate the transition of communication over centuries, from well-known silent TV shows (Tom and Jerry) to modern social media platforms. Unit 7 - The World of Work: We’ll explore some unique jobs of the past that have become obsolete in today’s modern world and learn how to properly prepare for a job interview. Unit 8 - Pets: We’ll discover how animals became pets and how pets communicate with humans. Unit 9 - Games: We’ll be exploring different types of games (board games, video games, and sports) and how they can affect us. Unit 10 - Shopping: We’ll be reading and writing about the addiction of shopping and the influence of marketing on consumers. Unit 11 - Fashion: We’ll discuss and read about the world of fashion and investigate the life of fashion bloggers. Unit 12 - Living a Sustainable Future: We’ll be discussing and reading about a variety of eco-friendly methods and adaptions in order for mankind to build a sustainable future.
